John Tejada & Arian Leviste Back to Slap Some Techno In Ya Face

If you know the Immigrant label, or you geeked out to bleepy techno in the early 00’s, then you know who John Tejada and Arian Leviste are.

Since their first release together, it’s been nothing but tight, mean techno and tech house.  Hysteresis, out now on Areal Records, is no exception.

The title track starts us off on a bouncy ride, which we’ve come to expect from the boys, in an almost 2003-esq Yoshitoshi style tech house.  Switched Mode is more techno and less house, with filtered arpeggiation and LFOs galore.  Electromigration is really the seminal sound I know John best for, with a consistent stab on the 4th note, bathed in an bubbly acid bassline.  Lastly, Capacitor Plague is a lovely bit of distorted stabs over 808 hits.  Think Jeff Mills and Planetary Assault Systems, rolled into one and you’ll get a feel for the tune.

Overall, the release offers techno jocks all they could desire.  All 4 tracks are easily playable in a techno or tech house set, if you’ve got the moxie.
